The Beach at Your Own Pace

Discover Kalamata by walking or cycling along the shore, in one of Greece's most visitor-friendly coastlines.

The Walking Experience

Kalamata offers a unique continuous walking experience. Starting from the port and reaching the far end of the eastern beach, visitors enjoy wide pavements, shade from palm and tamarisk trees, and the feeling that the city “breathes” along with the sea.

The Highlights: The route past the iconic neoclassical buildings along Navarino Street, and the feeling of the sea breeze make this stroll a daily ritual for locals.

Cycling the Coast

Kalamata is rightly known as a city of cycling. The coastal bike path, stretching along Navarinou Avenue, is flat, safe, and offers stunning sea views. It is the easiest and most pleasant way to move from the Marina to the beach bars or even continue your ride toward the city center via the bike path network connecting the shore to the main square.
