VisitKalamata Visitor Center is housed in the Historic Town Hall on Aristomenous 28, in the heart of the city. It brings together four distinct spaces designed to inform, engage, and immerse visitors in Kalamata's identity.
The Information Office is staffed and stocked with printed maps, guides, and brochures covering Kalamata and the wider Messinia region.
Next to it, the Local Products Exhibition Hall showcases products from local producers and hosts regular tasting events every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, organized in collaboration with the Messinia Chamber of Commerce.
The Digital Museum "Kalamata 1821 โ Nikos Zacharias" is a dedicated immersive exhibition on the city's role in the Greek War of Independence.
The fourth space features interactive systems developed by ICS-FORTH through the Ambient Intelligence (AmI) Programme, including interactive maps, augmented reality displays, and educational installations, offering alternative, technology-driven ways to explore the city's culture and heritage. In total, ten interactive systems operate across the Visitor Center, all electronically linked to the city's second visitor point on the waterfront.
